![]() | I picked up the Garmin Mobile XT that includes the GPS 10x bluetooth receiver. I have a question as the instructions are NOT clear at all... actually it's pathetic how it is.. What you get is the GPS10x receiver, battery, belt clip. Then you get the software which is loaded on a micro SD card, and it gives you the different size cards to fit into your phone..etc I put the card into my treo 755p it installs fine! :-) It sees the GPS receiver :-), A-ok! Now here is my question problem. The maps are obviously loaded on the 2gb card that is included with the software... however it says in order to save a map or route you should have a blank SD card... my question is when I take out the card that has the software on it it no longer shows a map on the screen... So if anyone has this how do I put the maps from the sd card that came with the Garmin Mobile XT and put it on my 4gb micro SD card? Thanks much! -Nigel |

![]() ![]() | is there any way you can use a card reader to copy the files to your pc and then copy to another sd card? |

![]() | Yea you bet! That is not an issue to me at all... my question is what needs to be moved? The reason I ask that is the card that they supplied is a 2gb card with their software.. I'd prefer not to have to use or move all 2gb of data from their card to mine as that seems like a waste of space..etc I will have to look when I get home to see what type of files there are and how it is labeled etc... but I wish there was a way to just export the map to the palm then I could just copy it to my card... Thanks, -Nigel |

![]() ![]() | i'd move everything that's on the card to be safe. what would happen if you're out in the middle of some god-forsaken part of middle america and you just happened to leave out the portion of the map you need? unlikely, maybe, but possible. i just received the palm gps navigator for christmas and some of the maps are around 110 mb. not sure about the garmin maps, but it's not feasible to hotsync a map to your palm when you won't have enough free memory to hold it. i'd do the copy to pc-copy to card route, were it me. hope it works! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The majority of the space will be taken up with the map data, which of course you would need on the new card ![]()
