![]() | too much crap Hi.. In the last 6 months, I have downloaded and deleted like a lunatic. I want to reformat my Trea....I know how to do a hard reset, but what should I save to put back on? Is there a simple guide to do this? I really want to clean this up. Thanks in advance. |

![]() ![]() | Man have I been there. Over the years and many Treos I accummulated a ton of garbage. With my new 680 I decided to go with NeatFreak Plus, which includes Uninstall Manager, CleanUp and other useful utilities that allow me to install/test new apps and then delete them and all their misc.files completely without the residual litter. I consider an app like this as a must have, along with good backup app so as to avoid hard resets in the future. As to what to reinstall, that is going to come down to personal choice. All the basics will remain after you reset, but if you HotSync to a new username, you can install what you use daily first, or you remove/hide apps in your original username that you don't want installed any more in your Palm/Username/Backup folder. Either way, IMO it's easier to start with the minimum apps needed and add those enhancement apps when you truly miss them.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Although Cleanup works on the 755p, I'm not sure the Uninstall Manager does. It might, but it seems that the compatibility charts I read, didn't list the 755p. |

![]() | correct. it's easier to remove the files of the palm software from your PC. 1. go to add remove programs and uninstall the software 2. go to program files and delete the palm folder (be sure to save the back files) 3. go to the registry and delete the ff: a. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and delete US robotics (check first if there are other files other than palm files) b. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE and delete PalmSource after that restart the PC then install a new Palm software. this is what i always do if i wanted to install a new software of palm and wanted my PC free of any palm files.
