Corrupt or missing "Startup Application" on Memory Card - Treo Forum

Hi all,

I was using my "Card Reader" app to move MP3s into the Audio file and somehow corrupted the "startup" application on the card. It has effected several program's ability to search the card (they get hung in perpetuity}. Anyone know how I can fix this? I was thinking of trying to copy the startup app from my other card and pasting it to this one, but didn't want to do anything that might mess up my other card. Thanks.

Which card reader app were you using? Also, depending on how the info was corrupted, just copying the app back might cause some more trouble. Try using a regular card reader to explore the card and see what is actually installed.

Hi Forgot,

I was using the software app called Card Reader. The other card works fine. I'll take a look at it again and see if I can report more details. Stay tuned.

That happened to me. It wouldn't read my 700 or Centro at all. So, I did a System Restore to a time before the issue. That fixed it.

Well, I'm not sure what I did to create the errors on the card, but when I used the software app "Card Reader" to try to figure out what was wrong with it, my PC immediately told me there were errors on it and asked me if I wanted it to fix it. I said yes, and crossed my fingers. Next thing I know, everything works great and I now have a lot of spare memory on the card. Not sure what happened, just glad it worked.

I say files got corrupted and your computer deleted them and that is why you have more free space.

By PC, do you mean you used the Palm software to diagnose the problem, or some other software? Sometimes I try to look at my Pics and Video and the
card reader says 'No card'.
