755P and Tom Tom 720 - Treo Forum

Hello, a friend of mine just purchased the Tom Tom Go 720 thinking it would connect via bluetooth to her 755p. The Tom Tom 720 will be listed in the devices screen on the palm and it will try to connect, but after entering the pass key, the error message says Unable to add TomTom 720 to your trusted device list. Does anyone have any suggestions or know if this will even work?

I got it to work but it was tricky and took numerous tries. The handsfree part works, but not the data file transfer. For whatever reason the Treo 650 phone is supported, but of course not on Sprint network, which is what I have, or I bet I could figure out the data piece too.

If I remember correctly you need to have the TomTom search for the 755p. The other thing I had to do was keep toggling the bluetooth setting from visible to temporary and back again to keep the connection active. I know you shouldn't have to do that, but it's what worked. Password 0000 as the directions state.

If you can't get it working, post again and I'll delete the pairing and do it again to figure out exactly what I did.

Thanks for the info. Funny thing, my friend called Tom Tom and was told that the 755 was not supported and wouldn't work. So she took the Tom Tom back and the sales person was able to get it paired. She's happy, now I just have to teach her how to use the Tom Tom. Thanks again.
