Just got a Treo 755p...what accessories are a must have?

Hi all,

Newbie here. I just upgraded to a 755p. I'm in the process of porting my software from my Palm T/X to my Treo. Some of the software won't port and there's no programs in my files on my hardtop....I don't want to have to carry both my Treo AND the T/X....I'm not getting anywhere with the palm.com sites...any advice or tips for me? Thanks!

Also, what accessories are a must-have for this device. I did purchase the insurance through Sprint for $7/month, just in case. I do have a three yr old at home

I look forward to everyones advice and thanks again for any help.

Hi,
I love my 755p! Not sure if yours came with one, but get a car charger; next get at least a 2gb mini sd card; and finally get one of those silicon flexiskin covers. I have a black one and a translucent one. Go with the translucent. The see-through colored cases appear to be thinner than the black which affords better tactile ability, and also you can see the various buttons underneath the skin. I've dropped my phone once already and the skin positively protected it. I'd also recommend a screen cover.
Cheers,
Mike

I have to agree with OOFMike's recommendations of a charger, memory card, screen protector, and probably the case as well.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the 755!

Here are my "can't live without's":
1 - These three items will charge your Treo (and a spare battery) in virtually any situation:
Sync & Charge Duo Cable
Palm battery charger
USB Wall Adapter

2- Spare Battery
Extended (My Fav - doesn't require extended door)
or
OEM

3- Case - LOTS of choices!
4- 2gb Mini SD card
5- Screen protector

+1 on the hardware recommendations. Chargers, screen protectors, and SD cards are a must for any Treo owner. Plus a good bluetooth headset is always a good thing to have.

I thought I'd throw in a software title as a must-have. My everyday piece of software is Pocket Tunes Deluxe. It's worth the upgrade price. I stream internet radio and MP3s from my home PC while at work.

I agree! I didn't think I needed it for a long time, but upgraded and love it!

I'd recommend a Jawbone BT headset for hands free talking AND for use in a noisy environment. PTunes is great as an MP3 player, but I personally like Kinoma 4 for odds and ends video and my Internet streaming radio. If you gotta have the ability to check on or set your TiVo/DVR when your are away from the boob tube, then a Slingbox and Palm OS Slingplayer is pretty impressive. With all the extra use you're going to need a spare battery ... so get one that give you the extra juice.
