Stylus/Touchscreen doesn't work - Treo Forum

My wife and I got our treo's last week. Everything seemed ok. Last night, we were trying IM with AIM. Mine was working fine. Then after my wife installed IM and logged in with AIM, the touchscreen didn't work. Everytime the stylus would touch the screen it would "push", "click" it. For example, if you were on the phone dial screen, everytime the stylus would touch (no matter what part of the screen), it would press 4. On the Apps main menu, it would push the My Treo Icon.

We didn't put any 3rd party software, other than the ones supplied by sprint.

A soft reset wouldn't work, so we ended up doing a hard reset. Everything seems to be working fine now.

Anyone have this problem? Or why it did it?

do you have a screeen protector on sometimes they cause touchscreen problems or you may have a little dust under the edge of the frame and the screen messing up the touchscreen take a piece of paper and gently run it under the adge of the frame and see if microdust or lint comes out. Also try recalibrating the touchscreen.
