If your laptop doesn't have a built in card reader then by using a USB or PCMCIA card reader

I've moved it to it's own thread for better exposure

Just use the hotsync cable to install or transfer files to your SD card. Or doesn't that work with XP?

my goal is to drag & drop files from my laptop to the SD card in 755p without using a card reader. But windows explorer in XP does not recognize the SD card in my 755p. Thanks.

I downloaded a 30-day trial version of Card Support II for Treo 755p. It's very easy to drag & drop files from Windows Explorer without any card readers - just your sync cable. For $14.95, I think it's well worth the time and convenience. I mainly drag & drop ebooks, work files, mp3, jpeg, and video files into my 2 gb SD card. With this program, I don't have to open multiple programs to do those things. Thanks for the suggestion.

Bravo!
4766cl: Thanks for asking this question!
TazUk: Thanks for the software solution!

I've been moving my card back and forth between Treo and laptop copying files since the 650 days and never thought to see if there was an easy fix. (So, I'm a little slow...) Of course, that's why we're all here.

But you could buy a card reader for less, and get more functionality. I paid $9.99 US for my card reader, and it reads SD, XD, all the Sony Memory Sticks, CF, etc.

@LL True but it's still a pain to have to keep removing the SD card if you just want to copy a file

I agree. If I hadn't switched to the 755, I'd just use the card reader I have. I use it with cards from various devices - including the SD from my 650 before I switched. But with the 755, the card is on the side and I also carry my phone in a case... Needless to say, I've really started finding it less-than-convenient to remove the card every time I want to copy something to it. At $14.95, count me in the "paying the price for convenience" category!
