Phone Suddenly Reboots And Ask To Update Rom Image? Please Help! - Treo Forum

Hello,

I have the 755, and suddenly today I look at the screen and it starts to say that it is trying to connect via HotSync? I was confused as heck and hit cancel and it says that it is canceling the operation then suddenly it starts the HotSync again, and again, and again... so I get frustrated and pull the battery out as the phone was really tripping now. I reinstall the battery and I immediately get this screen asking "Update Rom Image, Yes or No?" so I hit NO and it goes to a screen with red white green and blue squares all across the screen and nothing happens. I reinstall the battery again and it keeps asking if I want to update the rom image again. I finally tried yes as it says "Rom Image Now Found On SD Card" .... So the phone is useless at this point. What went wrong? Assuming I need to go to a Sprint Repair Facility?

OH I HotSync daily, will I be able to do a good restore from HotSync or am I going to regret not owning a backup software for my settings?

Yeah, I finally fixed it. I performed a Hard Reset and when it asked to erase all data I said no and the phone booted like normal with no loss in data!!!

Looks like this is my lesson... backup!
