ellartay is on a distinguished road
Stuart,

Thanks for the reply. I've already synched up with my laptop (via the cradle), and it shows me all bells and whistles from my treo (i.e. calendar, contact list, etc.). It also shows photo albums / folders for the handheld's pics, but the pics aren't in the internal nor backup folders on my desktop. I may need a software download as Treotosh suggested (thanks Tosh), but I'm not sure which one to download as the descriptions of each don't seem to touch on my issue.
Further assistance / guidance is appreciated.

El

@ellartay In XP, your pictures should be in your Pictures Folder and not in your backup folder. There should be a Palm folder in there with all of your pictures.

Second, if you wish to download the pictures on your own, you can download a program call Card Reader. It will allow you to use your Treo, when it is tethered, as a usb and read your SD card. You can then go into the card, and then find the DCIM folder. Your pics and vids should be in there. Just click and drag them into your specified folder on your compy.

I'm not sure what "software download" Tosh is speaking of. Your pics should sync to your "My Pictures" folder and are usually in their own folder that says Palm or PalmOne. However, if they are not, then be sure they aren't somewhere else on your laptop's drive. I use Vista and it has a feature that shows recent downloads. I just click on that and can tell whether something downloaded or not. I think XP has the same feature. Have you tried Card Reader or Softick Card Export to transfer as I suggested? Of course, these will only work if you keep your pics on your SD card. By the way, if you do keep your pics on your SD card, that may very well explain why they are not syncing, as the Hotsync only backs up what is on the device, not on the card.

Actually, they should appear in both, but since ellartay couldn't find them in his "My Pictures" folder I was recommending that he look at his backup folders. There are actually many Palm backup folders in XP, but only one says backup and you're right its not in there.

@Ellartay, the way to look for your backup stuff is to search Desktop > My Documents > Program Files > Palm > (Backup ID)* > Photos > Backup to Internal.

*Backup ID kind of reverses your Hotsync ID. For example, my daughter's Hotsync ID is "Kristin's Centro." Her backup ID is "Centro K." That is the folder you want to look in. Inside that folder are all the backup folders for the various functions of your device including one that says photos.
