Speed Dial - Treo Forum

I am unable to assign a speed dial number, although I can assign any letter. is this a design shortcoming or my ignorance?

Instead of using numbers for speed dialing, the Treo uses the hard keys as shortcuts known as Favorites. Any lettered key on the keyboard can be assigned a favorite. What it does when pressed depends on how you set it up.

if you are on your main phone screen, the spaces below you can browse down to and then assign them as you want (there are also 4 pages completely open) you can select the empty spot, assign a contact, and assign a hotkey. So i have M for Mom, D for Dad , etc.
