Treo 750 Registry Tricks and Tips!

sorry cyfer...my day was f'ed yesterday. Let me start over...

the MNC/MCC is correct, as it was the one listed in my registry already, I just added the data value of 'Nicholas HQ' (without quotes). I hit apply, it asked if I was sure I wanted to make changes, and I hit yes. I exited, then removed the battery for 30 seconds. Put the battery back in, and still the same.

My MNC/MCC is 310410 (I used to be Cingular). I do have another string value in my Operator Names folder that was there already, called Default and it says 'value not set' under data value.

Okay, why not try these out 1st:

1) Delete all the listed entries in the Operator Names Folder and restart your Treo.

2) Create another entry again with the correct MNC/MCC and this time, scroll to the bottom of the Registry Editor and tap on OK instead of using the OK button of your Task Manager.

3) Remove your Battery and restart your Treo after 20 seconds.

I'm running WM 6.0, maybe thats why I can't get it to work.

Nope, its works fine even with WM5. If the above method still doesnt work, then your MNC/MCC maybe wrong in the 1st place or other Carrier related issues.

Hi Cyfer33,
what if I want to delete/remove the network carrier from Today screen altogether? Seems like it has got no useful purpose other than showing the network carrier and the bluetooth icon. Saves a lot of precious screen real estate.

What today screen apps are you using? I know you obviously have those registry tweaks, but besides that I dig the organization of it.

Here's an example. Lets say the Carrier is AT&T which MCC is '310' and MNC is '090'. Then the string value should be set to '310090'.

I can't get this one to work. I change the value, I save it, reset the phone by taking battery out, wait 20 seconds, turn back on, still says AT&T.

Change the width and height of scroll bars
1)Browse to \HKLM\SYSTEM\GWE\
2)cyHScr : Horizontal Scrollbars Height in pixels (default is 13)
3)cxHScr : Horizontal Scrollbars Width in pixels (default is 20)
4)cyVScr : Vertical Scrollbars Height in pixels (default is 20)
5)cxVScr : Vertical Scrollbars Width in pixels (default is 13)
6)Reboot

Tried them myself and work like a charm.

Yes removing it would save a single line of space but there is no registry hack for it. The only way to do it is to use Hidelogo Cab but take note that it quite invasive and it will also remove the Date/Time from the Today Screen if you have enabled it. There are quite a few of Hidelogo Cab on the net but I strongly suggest that you get this version instead which is the Hidelogo11.cab. I can send you the Hidelogo11.cab by mail if you cant find it on the net. Just pm me and include your mail.

YES!!!!!!!!!!! You da man...........
Logo gone..... reclaim about 5% of screen space........ well done.
Also I installed hidetaskbar.exe to hide the taskbar..... Now my phone looks like this:
