Having issues with this to. There is no OperatorNames or CarrierNames in RIL? Only thing in there is APIInfo folder.

Ok, the 2nd part of the Reg Tweak is slightly a bit more difficult. As for the spaces, you need 1 or 2 spaces after "dd" which you should apply using the spacebar. One of the most common occurrence when adding/editting Registry entries is that it is not saved properly. Click "OK" on the top left after creating a new entry and you should see a Pop-up menu telling you whether to Save Changes. Click "Yes" to do so and exit the Registry Editor followed by a Reboot.

If there's no OperatorNames or CarrierNames, you can create a New Key and name it OperatorNames or CarrierName and the rest are the same. Check if either OperatorNames or CarrierName works for you. Simply delete the redundant Key if doesnt.

By default, the Left Soft Key is factory set to Email on the Treo which is quite a waste on the 750 as opposed to the Right Soft Key. With this Tweak, you can now add an additional shortcut to a common program while renaming the Left Soft Key at the same time.

In this Tweak, we will be adding the SMS shortcut and renaming the Left Soft Key to Message. As usual, a Registry Editor must be installed on your Treo before proceeding.



1) Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Key\112 using any Registry Editor.
2) Tap on the Default string to open it up and change the value data to eg: Message.
3) Tap on the Open string to open it up and change the value data to Messaging.exe.
4) Reset your Phone or remove the battery to finalize the change.

I am having an issue changing the network operators' name. When I go into my reg edit, there is not box for 'data value', and there is already a string with my network operators' MNC/MCC is already listed. Can someone possibly explain this process to me in a bit more detail?

Hi sssence. If a String with the correct MNC/MCC already exists, simply tap on it and change the 'Value Data' to input any text you like. Save the entry properly and remove battery for 20 seconds. Turn on your phone again to see the change.

let me just preface this post by saying...I really don't think I'm a dumba**, but I very well could possibly be in this instance...

jfa02, I did exactly what you said. I even did the clock/date thing that is also in this thread, and it worked, but for the life of me, I cannot get the operator name to change, and it's starting to make me doubt my intelligence. Can you help me out anymore?

Well Im not jfa02 and could you be a little more specific? You said the entry already exists and if yes, what is it? OperatorNames or CarrierName and is the MNC/MCC correct?
