Official WM6 updater for 750 & 750v from Palm Australia - Treo Forum

Hi all,

for those of you who are still looking for WM6 updater, I've found the official source of updater file from Palm Australia (http://www.palm.com/au/support/treo7...m6update.html). Every 750 or 750v owner is eligible to download the file (~60Mb) for only one time by sending the serial number. It is available until October 31 2008. I have downloaded and installed it succesfully without any problem so far.

Sorry if this has been posted before, I'm newbie in this forum.

Does anyone know when an update will be available for Telstra phones?

I actually run Virgin (Optus re-branded) but bought a Telstra Treo 750 so I believe I am stuck with Telstra WM version?

hope it works now, it's for asia pacific area but who knows will work for other part of the world?

It will work but of course you will have 3 or Vodafone branding instead of Telstra's

Hey Davesim. I have asked Palm when an unlocked version will be available and they haven't got an answer. I also have an unlocked 750 with Telstra branding on it. I have asked if the available WM6 versions will work on mine and they said it may void the warranty...so be careful before installing an update from another carrier. It is a tad frustrating as i did buy the phone outright (unlocked) but when I unboxed it I discovered that it was in fact a Telstra phone. I have tried an Optus sim and it does work so it is unlocked.

Thanks for the update. Getting so frustrated that the WM6 software is not available for the unlocked treos. You feel like a lesser owner, for buying the treo, which you would think was more profitable to Palm than selling through the mobile phone carriers..
