How do I close programs?

Hi

Can anyone help with this? When I click on "OK" or tap on the little "X" in the top right on any screen, the program I am running appears to "go away" but in reality it is still running in the background - more as if it was minimized rather than actually closed.

This has two really serious results:
1. After a while the whole phone falls over because there are too many applications open, and I have to press-and-hold the OK button and do a "stop all."

2. Certain software, such as ListPro and eWallet, don't synchronise properly if the program's still "open" - so I have to go and do the "stop all" as above just to get them to synch.

I know it's not my particular hand-held because I recently had it changed under warranty (God I regret the day I bought this damn 750!! ) and the new one does the same thing.

Any help VERY gratefully received!

well thats been the situation with pocket pcs bacxk since the arly days of active sync there are 3rd party programs such as magic button whichg will actually close programs when you you hit the x. But on the treo tap and hold the ok buton until you hear a click and a box will open up that displays all active programs you can tap close all or close each program individually. I think that wm6 may change this to the x actually closing programs not sure though as I dont have it yet!

Holding the Ok button, or Option-OK will bring up the list of running programs. you can choose to stop them from this menu. This functionality remains in WM6.

Nope WM6 works the same way as WM5 in that when you close an application it doesn't really close and just hides in the background.

I think it is treo specific because I can't replicate tha application close by holding the ok button on the windows mobile emulators.

Holding down the OK button doesn't close the app it just takes you into Task Manager

Thanks guys - as you can see from my point 1 above, I did know about the "stop-all" feature - I was hoping that there was some other way or perhaps something I was doing wrong. Ooooohhh for Palm OS!!! Why oh why did I ever agree to "up"grading my lovely old 650??? Or my 515? Or especially my m100 which really was the ultimate machine??? And ran for a month on a single penlight battery! (Yes, yes, I KNOW it couldn't send or receive actual phone calls or messages, but you can't have everything, can you??)
