![]() | The Shortest Battery Life Possible. Hello. I have been having serious battery life problems with my Treo 750. I purchased a brand new Treo and the battery life was horrible so i went back to the store and got another one. The same problems is still going on. I had the phone at 100% battery life till 10:30am when i left my house. I was at a meeting until 1PM. With very little use of the phone. By the time it was 1:30pm the phone was down to 38% battery life. The seems to be an ongoing problem. Any advice? -JC |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Welcome pelemaradona10. to treonauts. I gather from your screen name that you have more than a passing interest in soccer! I suspect that your battery probelms may related to how many programs are running in the background. Unlike desktop windows when you hit the x, with windows mobile the x just moves the program in the background and holds onto memory and uses up battery power. Tap and briefly hold down the ok button next to the red phone button a screen will come up with active programs and you can select the ones you want to close. Another possible problem is related to signal strength and also whwther you are in edge service or high speed service which wule either be a U or H in the top most screen bar where it shows signal strength and other icons including the x on the far right. If you have HSDPA svc it uses battery quicker than Edge G square. Also if you are in a marginal service area it may be reverting to analog which eats the battery quickly as well. You might consider getting another battery so you would have two. You could also get one of the extended batteries which require a humpack cover which have up to 3300 mah or Seidio has a new battery 1600mah which fits inside the regaular battery cover. All are available at the Treonauts store here. Good luck! |

![]() | Yes i am a big soccer fan. Yes i have IM+. Signal is great in Newark, NJ. Usually it is a U next to the signal bars. But it is not always there. It seems that Xpress Mail seems to always be running. It connects to my email account every 5 minutes. I was considering by an extended battery, the ones that you need a wider cover for. The only problem with that is that the phone would no longer fit in my side pouch case or in the Holster i have for the car kit.... Is this battery problem something that everyone here experiences? It's odd for two phones to be having this problem... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My battery life is fine so it's likely your problem is caused either by IM+ or Xpress Mail. Try going into Task Manager by pressing and holding the OK button and then ending those programs when you're not using them.

![]() | Perhaps it is the email client. What programs do you use to connect to your email account, if it's not Xpress Mail? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have a similar problem occasionally. My screen comes back on for no reason (that I can see at least) as soon as I press the power button. It may have something to do with my email (Pocket Outlook, with a gmail, 2 yahoo and my corp. email)settings or the fact that I leave IE open most of the time... |

![]() ![]() ![]() | It is certainly possible that its the email client but it may very well be the express mail you might be able to change the settings to where it queries at larger intervals that would cut down on the battery drain. I dont use express mail at all and I have msn and 2 sbcyahoo.net accounts that I check occasionally but usually I just check on my office computer. Sometimes on the treo only. I certainly dont have battery issues with my normal usage pattern but I keep the treo connected to the desktop at the office and at home unless I am not in the office or at home or in the car. If I used it a lot which I may start doing more of as I am now traveling about twice a month to Oklahoma bankruptcy meetings. I may go for the unlimited data plan with cingularly ATT. |
