| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Treo 750v wifi Hi there - I am new to this forum but am I right in thinking that one of the major differences between the 750 and 750v is that the 750v does not have wifi capabilities and that the 750 does? Is this because Vodafone have somehow locked the wifi capabilities of the 750v - and is this reversible? Basically if I unlock my phone to other networks, can I browse the web through a wireless modem? Sorry for my gross ignorance! Rich |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The 750 and 750v are identical hardware wise and neither of them have Wi-Fi built in. If you unlock the phone then you can use the voice and data services of any carrier. Not sure what you mean by wireless modem ![]()

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Thanks for the reply barman. From what I had read about the 750 (see: Palm - Products - Palm® Treo™ 750 Smartphone where it says broadband wirelss), it could access the internet wirelessly (through a wireless router/broadband) - is this not the case then? If not, then I am barking up the wrong tree. Is there anyway I can access the internet through my 750v without having to use Vodafone and pay them for the privilege? I have a wireless router at home and I would really like to connect to this to get my emails. I understand there are mini sd wi-fi cards now available - would this be the only way forward? Thanks for your time... Rich |

Wifi, Bluetooth 2.0, also carrying Opera as it's Primary Browser Source, Let's all Push our favorite Palm Source / Palm (Device) Creators to launch something like this, and make it so that we can get more availbility to Unlocked devices and systems to fit our needs, I'm sick and BLOODY TIRED of having Winsuck Ruling the Computer world, LONG LIVE LINUX, UNIX, PALM, and APPLE. DOWN WITH MICROSOFT. Oh, BTW anyone know of a TRUE REPLACEMENT to Outlook, I need something to Syncronize Data from Blackberry's, Treo's, Windows Mobile Devices, ect that will also act as a viable FREE OR LOW COST OPTION that would be able worked on from Ubuntu, OSX, Free BSD, Solaris, Redhat, and work will in a Blackberry Enterprise Server, ect as well as from Vista and/or Windows XP Pro, and Windows Small Business Server 2003, Exchange Server 2007 (Wouldn't use these if I didn't have to for work. Man I hate people who just won't expand there Horizons and realize all the Viable options out there, | |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Thanks for all your answers - it looks like I need to get myself a mini sd wifi card. I guess I won't be able to download anything big that I cannot store on the built in hard disk then as Ill have to vacate the sd slot, and I will need to install Windows 6 too. Is this a free upgrade or I do I have to pay someone? I still can't believe that these smartphones don't have built in wifi. Why did I get one then? |
