Poor reception with unlocked 750 - Treo Forum

Hi, new to the forum buts look great. Trying to get any info off the palm or vodaphone sites is nigh on impossible.

We bought a couple of unlocked Treo 750s recently to evaluate. Running them with Vodaphone SIMs. Both myself and my colleague have both found that the reception is very poor. We suffer frequent cut offs and it mars an otherwise very good device.

Is there any info anywhere that may help? I wonder if its because they are unlocked and therefore not "tuned" for Vodaphone in some way?

Any help appreciated.

You could try forcing them to GSM rather the default of Auto, under Settings , Personal, Services, Phone, Band selection. Because Vodafone haven't rolled out 3G everywhere it will try to connect to a UTMS tower if there's one in range even if there's a GSM tower with a much higher signal

By switching it to GSM you will get slower data rates though.
