Problem with Setting up Voicemail Speed dial - Treo Forum

Hi,
I have a problem I am trying to setup my voicemail speed dial (number 1 entry). However every time I enter the number via the speed dial number it just clears it and gives me the error that the number has been deleted.

Can anybody help me to resolve this problem (it occured since I had to reset my Treo to get rid of some very annoying software that messed with some registries).

First, welcome to Treonauts.

Who is your provider? At least on Cingular/AT&T there is a voicemail shortcut on the today screen, does this work? Are you just pressing the button one time, or are you holding it?

Sorry I have to clarify, I have obtained the Treo 750 through a third party phone dealership that supplies it with contracts (germany T-mobile). On the today screen there is the shortcut to voicemail. However that very shortcut (voicemail | 1) comes up with an error that the number has been deleted. Now when I try to set the number via the speed dial menu I can enter the voicemail number however it doesn't store the number and just keeps giving me the error message that there is no related number. So if anyone know how this issue can be resolved I would be most greatful.

Alright, then the steps are:

Press the menu key on the Today screen:
Choose Speed Dial Options
With the Voicemail item selected, press the menu key on this screen, and choose edit
Enter the number and press ok

This should fix it.

That exactly what I am doing, however the number that I enter does not stick.

Well it works for me, do you have the + in there as the first character?

Tried entering a plus before the number but it still doesn't store the number. Every time I go to edit it the number field is completly empty. I can then enter a number and click ok. But it appears that the number doesn't get stored. As it keeps giving me the same error message. And when I go back to edit the number I find an empty field again.

That is very strange, the only thing I can think of is it's a change the provider made to the rom.

I went in and completely erased it then hit ok, and when back in and it was gone, then I typed it back in. My VM is in the form +1 (414) 534-**** I had to manually type in the parenthesis and the dash. Of course this is a US formated number.

Just tried deleting and re-adding it on my 750v and it worked as expected.

Is it a Cingular, Vodafone or un-branded 750?

Its an unbranded 750. Its a bit odd - I spoke to palm support and they couldn't help me either. They say some ristriction must have been placed on it. Proably will have to take a look at the registries.
