| A Few Questions.... ![]() | When I turned the wi-fi on for the first time..it crashed the phone, requiring a soft reset. It won't connect to my school's network- first saying that the "key is wrong" but yet connecting anyway. It also doesn't have the best range (although what does one expect with wi-fi in a phone?) All I can say is this: as many others have said, the 8525 has nicer specs (camera,LED flash, wi-fi, HSDPA at purchase, future PTT) but.. Someone at Palm has obviously put effort into customizing WM5 for the 750, and usability is what matters in the end. The Treo just is more of a phone than the 8525. That's why I'm returning it and getting the T750. |

| I made my first post! ![]() | I'm also returning the 8525 today for the Treo750. I've been a loyal Treo user since the days of the Handspring PDA and most recently had the T650. My new job required that I have a WM phone to be able to easily sync with the existing exchange server, so I upgraded to the 8525 thinking that it was more durable and powerful. Not so. Frequent call drops and lack of ability to dial phone with one hand (slide-out keyboard is a user nightmare) are my biggest gripes. I also had a terrible problem with the memory card getting stuck. (See the Cingular forums for more info about that. It wasn't an isolated incident.) I'm hoping that the Treo lives up to my expectations. |

| I made my first post! ![]() | Treo 750 Vs HTC Well, I have owned a Treo 600, and a 650 and loved them both. I upgraded to the 750 recently and had very high hopes for many things. I was looking forward to WM6, loved the faster processor, and loved WM5 currently installed. BUT-and this is huge The screen size is horrible at 240x240. I knew this before I bought it and had lived with that screen size for about 5 years (since the 600). I never thought it would be a problem. The problem is that the WM5 standard appears to be the one that the 8525 has (320 x 240 I think), and the faster processor makes a difference to me with Slingbox (which I know does not currently work with WM6). There were about 3-4 programs which I really could not do without which did not work with the 240x240 screen. They installed fine but the buttons you had to press were virtually behind the keyboard with no way to scroll so you couldn't see them. Bummer cuz I like Treos. I couldn't do a RDP connection at all. I am a geek, so a PDA first, a cellphone second is for me. I took back the 750 and exchanged for the 8525. It rocks! WM5 has some issues like it looks like it seems to hang onto memory sometimes and I have to kill some processes, but I could blame the software (at least I can install it unlike the Treo). RDP to W2K3 works better than the Treo but still really small. Enough to get my job done but I know the limitations. I guess a wishlist for the Treo would be a bigger screen above anything else. I doubt the WM community will ever downgrade to support 240x240. I like the Treo keyboard better but I could live with the 8525's PROS- More WM5 features enabled (please correct me if I am wrong), handwriting recognition, voice dial, call counter faster screensize wifi, PTT, better camera-I don't care about any of those but may change my mind. Not why I bought it. CONS- Hard to dial, especially if you are driving keyboard isn't my style but I can live with it little bit bigger and heavier non standard handsfree plug |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | well I have seen threads in another forum re 8525 and some people have had quality control issues with the 8525 but its like that with any device. I was thinking aboiut the 8525 and the 750 for a long time 5-6 months before getting the 750. I am okay with the screen res and wm6 will be supporting 320 x320 aalthough the uprade wont change anything with the 750 the next twm treos will hopefully have that screen res. If they dont I suspect that that will be a source of major discontent to treo users |

![]() | I myself have chose the 750 over the 8525. I have had the Treo 600, 650, the 8125, 8525, and now the 750. I am in love with my phone again. The performance has been the same for both phones for me and my uses. My major problem with the 8525 was having the slide keyboard. I do a lot of emails and text messages and it just got tedious taking the phone out and sliding the keyboard out. I also had to buy a Siedio 3200 mah extended life battery to be able to get through the day using the 8525. The battery life with the 750 standard battery was a lot better than the standard battery on the 8525. The 8525 camera app is loads better than the 750. In my opinion the 650 camera app was a lot better as well. I prefer to have a full screen view to take my pictures with. I used the wifi occasionally but found that in paying for the unlimited data I did not use the wifi much. It also caused excessive battery drain when using it. The ability to have the dialing app in the today screen is better. I also like that voice command is included in the rom. I wish that WM on the treo came with a built in program that would allow a press and hold for capital letters. I used the 8525 for about 6 months and am back with a treo now. |
