| Bluetooth carkit problem Does anybody know what the deal is with bluetooth compatibility and carkits. From what I have found it sounds like most car kits are made by one of two manufactureres so I don't think my problem is car maker specific. My old 650 worked fine with my factory car kit (minus some information and problems with call waiting) but it paired up fine and I could make and receive calls no problem. Evidently there is a firmware/hardware issue with the Palm 750 and compatibility. I don't believe it to be a WM5 issue because the problem is unique to the 750 yet other WM5 devices apparently work.
Not surprisingly Palm/Cingular tech support is worthless on this one. I did read about some software called jetmobile that enhances bluetooth functionality with car kits but it does not help with the connectivity issue I am having. I believe that the problem is triggered when the screen dims but I have also read that it happens at other times too and it is also impossible to pair at times.
I have a 2006 BMW with iDrive if that helps anybody.
I am hoping that Palm has a software update in the future that addresses this and the missing HSDPA function that should be there as well. I am wise enough to know that Palm will never acknowledge what and when will come as their communication is terrible--which is why we all come here!
Thanks in advance. |
