Any way to wireless sync w/o exchange server - Treo Forum

Hi,

Just got my Treo 750 and I'd like to use Activesync over the web without Exchange server. Is there any way to do this?

Basically, I would like to sync everything that is set up in my ActiveSync conduits (specifically Outlook) remotely over the web. If I could figure out how, maybe port forwarding in my router to my pc - but what program am I trying to hit and can it be done?

Unless there's a third party app to do it then I would say no

I use www.link2exchange.com for the hosted exchange server 9.95/month and +2.00/month for the mobile device.

Works great no problems

I think there are cheaper ones out there but I am very please with link2exchange.

Now to add confusion to it I have the following setup

Work email #1 -> gmail
Work email #2 -> gmail
Earthlink #1 -> gmail
Earthlink #2 -> gmail
Earthlink #3 -> gmail

gmail -> saves a copy on gmail
gmail -> exchange server
gmail -> yahoo plus (allows a response from any of the above email accounts)

exchange server has one rule per email account and drops a copy into the extra sub folder with the name of that email account.

I should be able to retrieve any one email from gmail, yahoo or the exchange server. OK maybe I am a little paranoid about loosing data. Murphy law somewhere sometime I will not be able to access one so I have a backup.

Yes there is, Just go to ActiveSync>Menu>Add Server Source and just go through the motions but the address has to be a webmail address

Ah but that won't allow them to sync with Outlook on their PC
