Desperado !, need help to downgrade to WM6 from WM6.5

Hi All, I`m a newbie on my treo, 3 days ago I bought my treo 750 V with official WM6 Installed, today I`ve tried to upgrade to WM6.5, it works well, but I dont like the rom since it has some lacks for me.

This afternoon tried to downgrade, and I`m just download the CHEEIMG.NBH to rollback to WM6 ROM, because the official link from palm now is invalid.

but when I put all the files I got (CHEEIMG.nbh) to my fat32 format Mini SD, I have a problem when loading that ROM, when I push the Media Button + reset button in same time, the ROM wont load, the output was only Tri-color screen & display some info SPL xxx & SERIAL in bottom of the screen. I have tried many times to load but it wont work.

is there any problem with my Step ?, or anybody still have official Treo 750 WM6 Updater ?.

PLS HELP Brother.

thanks

The button you need to press is the PTT button, i.e. the one below the volume up/down buttons.

The mini-SD card should have just the CHEEIMG.nbh file on it, no other files/directories.

If you want to update to 6.0 the AT update is still available at mytreo.net - the world's number one treo resource in the downloads section. If you need an unlocked rom your best bet is to try the 750 forum at xda-developers. The update is "do at your own peril" Follow the instruction very carefuly.

No you should use the ATT update it will not relock your phone to ATT It may put the ATT cr++ware on your phone but unless you got a custom rom it probably already has all that "stuff" on it already.

Well, I'm not sure about the ROM. My father got it off eBay over a year ago. It does have the Cingular splash when turning the phone on and off, but doesn't seem to have any extra Cingular specific software. Anyway, I checked mytreo.net, but they don't have anything for the 750 in the software section?

Sorry, I did find the update, but it is the older 2.25, shouldn't I try to get the newer version? It also says not to use it if At&t isn't my carrier?

That rom 2.25 is THE only official update for an att/cingular branded phone. If you want another rom you probably need to look at xda-developers and find the treo 750 forum and you should be able to find an unbranded unlocked windows mobile 6 rom to get the update on your device. The instructions to use it should be in the thread as wel. We dont guarantee anything about the process. You might also look in the everything treo forum in their 750 threads you may be able to find update there somewher or a url reference to it . Same caveat as with xda developers.com your call to do it or not its your device and make no guarantees and we are noy liable if it does not go well. The adavantage of the at rom is that somewhere theres a recovery program if it messes up in the process and stuicks you in lala land.
