![]() | I can't read anymore my eyes are tired. Someone has probably already asked this question and I am sorry if I duplicate. I just got my Treo 700w and I love it. I like the chunkiness and the keyboard. I am a texting maven with the qwerty keyboard. My kids want to know when mom got so hip. My problem is I want my computer and phone to talk nice and sync back and forth nice. What happens is I get duplicate events. Sometimes I enter events on my Treo and I want that to go on my outlook calendar and vice versa. When I enter events in outlook I want it to enter on my Treo. I have read the manual and through threads. Am I the only person to have ever had this situation. I am sure I didn't choose something right. Oh well I come slowly into the 21st century ![]() |

The duplicate events are a result of an installed app called headfake.prc, and will, in actual physical reality, occur twice. While you will not have to attend any event twice, you will have to repeat everything you do and say at any one event. Okay......bad joke. Truth...... LotusLord will help with this as he uses WM. Others who can help: eclair (actually has a 700wx) jfa02 I will do some homework, here, as I use Palm OS and have no immediate answer, although I seem to have heard of this before.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Victoriangal, welcome to Treonauts, we're glad to have you here. Sorry under such trying circumstances. This has happened to me twice. I must have messed with some settings some how. I don't remember what I used to have, but we can try a few things: 1. From within the settings of active synch, try choosing "combine" with items on the pc. then re-sync. I think you probably chose "replace". (see Setting Synchronization Options if you have the PDF users manual) I think I did this and was fine afterwards, but still had to eliminate the duplicates manually while watching a chick flick. (Batten down the hatches this takes forEVER!) OR: 2.Here is a .cab file for removing duplicates that I didn't know about before. It may be VERY useful for all of us should this happen again. Caution: I have no personal experience with this so I cannot vouch for it. It came recommended by others though.DupeDeDupe - remove duplicate contacts - MoDaCo Need a second opinion here LL, Jfa?? should Victoriangal do a soft reset or two after the second sync? Wouldn't hurt. This is the best I can do right now. Good luck, and let us know. Last edited by eclair; 08-29-2008 at 09:22 PM. Reason: spelling, |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have not had any experience with duplicate entries in winmob had it several times in the 600 and 650 with palm os. I am putting my device on the power cord and synching and then will check my settings etc and get back with a somewhat well reasoned opinion. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Check your settings to see what you are synching and how. If you double click on the active icon in the tool bar lower right and click on tools and then options it will bring up a dialog box and tell you what you have selected to sync and then click on the settings button on the lower right quadrant it gives you options on what to do if there is a conflict which device controls. Fiddle with that and see if it makes a difference. Hope this helps |

![]() | Duplicate Messages Hello Victoriangal, Do you by any chance use Verizon Wireless and use their Wireless Sync software? If so you must disable the wireless sync before syncing with your computer. It will double contacts, calendar, notes ect every time you sync if the wireless sync is not disabled ( I learned my lesson the hard way ) Hope this helps. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | welcome to trenauts adf35 and thanks for the post. I dont have VZN and they are just starting to pentrate the Arkansas market until a couple of months ago when they bought Alltel, so I was not aware that the wireless sync would need to be turned off. |

![]() | Welcome Victoriangal & adf35. Victoriangal I know your frustration as I have this problem with Palm OS. I used Eclair's post and checked out my settings. Unfortunately, the only choices are duplicate, PC wins, Palm wins, or Nothing. I had it set to duplicate and just changed to Palm wins. I only did it for tasks to see what happens.
