Factory screen protector?

Just got my 700w, and I have a dumb question about the screen - there's a layer of plastic on the screen - is this a screen protector applied at the factory?

I ask because when I apply my own screen protector, I get this horrible moire pattern, which is really annoying.

Can I remove the default screen protector? There's a noticeable bubble with a hair under it. But it seems stuck to the screen by more than static. Don't want to wreck the screen by peeling it off, ya know.

Thats just the factory screen protector put on there so it doesn't get scratched during shipping. Peel it off and put your new screen protector on there. Don't forget to clean your screen well before you do this.

Sad old me I always to try to keep those bits of plastic on for as long as I can. My wife just comes along and rips them off for me. I must be slightly OCD.

Actually, my wife suggested I keep the factory protector on for awhile, since it has such a solid seal. So I'm doing that for now. Heh.
