Please Help..Active Sync Not Working- Again!

Ok so I know there is probably someone on here who has encountered this:

700wx Verizon- all of the sudden it just doesn't sync right anymore.
Whenever ActiveSync runs it gets to "Looking For Changes" and just circles endlessly with no result.
I cannot get my contacts/calendar any longer from Outlook into Palm.

I've tried everything including reinstalling Active Sync on desktop
Over and Over Again..I cannot get Active Sync to work any longer
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Do you use a software firewall or PC security suite? If you do try disabling it temporarily and see if it helps

It does make sense that a Firewall or Antivirus could be the culprit since Treo connects to a PC via USB (assuming that you connect via USB) essentially adding a network device. However, the 700w/wx seems to have this issue more than other models or phones. Disabling your Antivirus/Firewall to check if the problem persists is the should be the 1st thing you should try.

Another workaround sanctioned by Palm is to Repair the Device from the Network Settings. To do so, go to Control Panel > Network Settings. Right Click on the Mobile Device Network Setting and Right Click on properties.Under This connection uses the following properties, click on all of the Check boxes and click Ok. Then, Right Click on the Network Icon and select Repair if your device is not connected.

It is quite a known fact that syncing via Bluetooth is much more stable than USB. If you can, try syncing it via BT instead of USB.

Finally, a Hard Reset will almost surely solve the mystery AS Loop. If your phone is laggy and in need of a fresh start, a Hard Reset may not be too bad afterall.

It seems to me that if the issue were with a firewall or AV program, you wouldn't have been able to sync at all. If ActiveSync shows that you're connected, I dont think your security suite is the issue. Could be an issue w/ your Treo. As much as it may pain you, you may want to hard reset your Treo (hopefully you're using a backup program, if not, get one. SPB Backup, Sprite, and Resco Backup are all good choices) and then completely reinstall ActiveSync on your PC. However, do try TazUk's suggestion. AV software could still be the culprit.

Another thing that works at times is to delete the relationship on both the PPC and your PC, and set-up the sync relationship from scratch.
