 | Updating Problems I am tryingto update my Treo 700wx with the 1.15, I do steps 1,2 3 ok when I get to step 4 and double-click Treo700wxSprint1.15DesktopUpdater.exe the notepad opens up with what looks like html. I have tried this on two diff computers with the same out come. Any ideas. Help Thanks |

| welcome janbo to treonauts. Glad you are here sorry you are having problems with the update. I have the 750 and am not familar with sprint but if its an exe file it should take you to an installation wizard I would think to guide you through the update installation process or it should provide a .cab file to directly upload to the device. Something does not sound right. I just went to the palm site it looks like there are two different methods. It sounds like you used the pc method. If you have an sd card I would suggest you try to sd card method. follow the directions carefuly I used the sc card method to update to windows mobile 6 from winmob 5 and it was prety easy. | Yes I see that one can do that. I liked the idea of updating by cable because of the soft reset, if you do the sd card it wants a hard reset which will cause lost settings. |

| You nwould need to reinstall any programs installed other than the ones in rom For me that was my laridian pocket bible and ereader (pro version now free via download) and the sprite backup program ( now updated to a winmob6 version) Took maybe 5 minutes. No big deal. |
