Treo 700wx is TOO loud!

At the lowest volume setting the sound is still far too intrusive at work. I took care of this problem with my Palm OS based Treo with Volumecare. Is there an equivalent program for the Windows OS?

Do you mean the ring tone volume or the call volume?

I have to agree. The ringtones and things are fine, but the volume through the headphones or speaker phone does not have a low enough seeting. There is not enough resolution so you can go from often, too loud, to complete silence using both the phone and the windows media player volume.

I am so surprised at this phenomenon. I can't get my speaker volume up as HIGH as I want it. But, that dosen't help, does it? paull73, couldn't you just adjust the settings to buzz instead of ring, so you don't bother anyone nearby?

Yup me too. I always thought that Winmob Treo sounds are too soft when compared to its Palmos brothers.

I always switch the silent button on top of my phone on when I hit work. The vibrate is enough to alert me to a call/text, but basically silent to others!!

Thats waht I do when I go to Court but I tend to forget to switch it back onto to ringer and in my coat sometimes i dont feel the vibration and in the car I listen to sports radio and if I concentrate on a game I seem to be able to tune out the vibration and sometimes even the volume.

If you're using an MP3 as your ringtone you can use some software, such as Audacity, to reduce the volume of the MP3, that way it will be quieter when it rings

Either that, or use a naturally soft song. I have an MP3 assigned to my unknown callers I really have to change because it is not nearly as loud as my other assigned ringers (just the nature of the song)!!
