Problem: 700w Sends Barrage of Errant Text Messages - Treo Forum

Hi All,

This is a really strange problem. It seems that my 700w, when sending text messages (and this error only happens sometimes) sends portions of random emails I have on my phone along with the text messages I send. This results in the receiver getting approximately 20 text messages from me at once. Not good (except for Verizon who is still charging for these text messages).

I have the latest version of the OS that came with the phone (WM5), and have also cleared out all emails from my phone (inbox, deleted, sent). I have been using this phone for years and have had no trouble like this before.

Anyone ever seen this error before?

No, can't say that I have. If anything, a few weeks ago I cleaned out some old software - but nothing major.

I'm starting to think my only hope will be to try a hard reset, and then reinstall everything. A pain in the rear for sure - which I had sincerely hoped to avoid.

FYI - I am not using any third party apps for sending text messages or email. Just the native messaging app, and Wireless Sync for email (no Enterprise Server).

I hate to say a hard reset may be necessary, but it sounds like it is.
