No missed calls, no voice mail

I have a 700WX from Verizon and have spent many hours on the phone and on a pay phone . . . because they want you to call from another number so they can trouble shoot.

I'm having an issue of when people call me, it might ring for them 2-3 times then goes to voice mail(so it seams like i'm ignoring them), or it may ring untill they hang up or tell the caller that the operation can't be completed or something like that.

I don't receive these calls and my phone dosen't show any missed calls. This happened with my 700W and then they replaced it with the 700WX. unfourtunatly I can't reproduce it or find any common occurances, inside house, outside, happened at both.

This is very annoying, expecially since I've been looking for employment and don't know whose called.

has anyone else experienced this?
would the palm os be more reliable?
is it even a phone issue or service? My fiancee has a cell phone and has no problems.

thanks

My sister-in-law had the same issue. It is a problem on Verizon's end. She ended up getting a new number and that fixed her issue. She has the 700w. I hope they will assist you quickly!

Current carrier is Verizon.

My battery is never under 50% and have 2-3 bars of signal strength. maybe it's the area. This is odd, sometimes it won't "download" text messages until I make a phone call out.

How would a new number fix that issue? I transfered a number from TMobile, years ago, but didn't see this problem till lately.

Would the 700p work better? Or is the operation software not the issue. WM5 likes to feeze up, weeee.

Thanks for your help and input.

700p most likely would not fix your issue.

slojay00, I don't know if this will help you or not, but, was thinking it might be your settings that are the problem. Go to settings>enable sounds> and check the "event" box, check the "programs" box, and check the "notifications box.
Then,
go settings>sounds and notifications> and check the "play sounds" box>event>phone>known caller>increasing ring. You can also do the same for "unknown caller"
I found the same thing happening to me until I changed the settings to "increasing ring" it gets louder and louder for 4 ring sets. Also, make sure the ringer is set to the "on" position, and the handset volume is turned all the way up. Sometimes, I forget to turn the ringer back on after a meeting or such. I hope this will help you.

Honestly, I don't know how it would fix your problem. But she had the exact same thing. Verizon, 3rd tier support, said that something was wrong with her number. I think they said her number was hijacked. But I may be wrong. It looks like eclair has a better solution to try.

Same issue happens to me occasionally. I am with VZW as well, and it has been happening more lately than it has in the past, and usually with one or two numbers, not all of them. I am not sure what is doing it either, I usually do a soft-reset when I notice it, and cross my fingers. I would have to think it was the device, I will most likely call VZW CS and see what they say as well....I thought I was alone in this until I read this post!!! Oh well...I'll update as to what they say!!!

Thank you. I tried this but the calls are still not making it to my handset. Not even tripping the ringer, vibe or the history, it's like it never happened for my "phone".
