Text messages keep coming back!!! - Treo Forum

Hello everyone,

I have a Verizon Treo 700w. I've had it for over a year now and never deleted any of my text messages. Now I have nearly 3900 in my Inbox and over 3000 in my sent box. I first attempted deleting by going into messaging, options, "clear text messages". It froze on me. Then I tried manually deleting 100s at a time. I brought the numbers down to 1500 and 600 - after nearly 2 hours of this only to find out today that they're all back! So this time I went in to the options "Clear Text messages" and kept pushing buttons on the phone for the whole 50 minutes it took to clear them out - so it wouldn't freeze on me. This worked great! ZERO in inbox and sent. Then, to test my theory, I took the battery out and when I put it back in the text messages are BACK! Can anyone help me get rid of these darn messages for good???

You could try manually deleting the file which holds the messages, it's in the Windows directory of the Treo and is call PalmMsgV001
