Can't connect to internet over cellular when connected to PC via Bluetooth

Hello,

I hope this isn't too ignorant of a question, but here goes...

Here is what is happening. I have my Treo 700wx connected to my Vista Laptop via Bluetooth for ActiveSync (Mobile Device Center on Vista). When I try to do a send/receive for my IMAP e-mail account, I get this message:

Cannot Connect
Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings.

Likewise, I get the same issue when trying to use the web browser while connected via Bluetooth.

I am not sure if the Treo is not capable of using the cellular modem at the same time as the bluetooth, if I am just ignorant and don't have the phone configured correctly, or if this is just by design.

If anyone can provide any help, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!
Michael

IRC if it detects a cable, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection it will default to using that for internet access.

650 stopped working also

My 650 has allowed me to use it as a bluetooth modem to connect my laptop to the internet for some time (couple years now), but in the last two months or so it has stopped working.

My guess is that Spring has done away with it, but I hope not. First month I thought it was something wrong with the network. Now I am beginning to think it is being stopped purposely.

I can connect the phone to the laptop via bluetooth, pair them and use dial up networking, but it says it's dialing and never connects.

When you say it "defaults" does that mean there is away to change that default?

I can't see anything in the settings to do that, but there may be a third party utility which does it
