How do I add music files... - Treo Forum

This Treo world is new to me. I am trying to add music to my 700wx from Wal-mart.com. I am still working off of Windows 2000 on my pc - my Media Player version is 9 - According to my "Treo Bible" I need Media Player 10 - my PC won't run 10 it is for Windows XP. Other then upgrading to XP, is there something I can do?

i am not too computer savy..... but i would think it shoulndt matter... just drag the music file into the treo and your treo should be able to play it just fine....

That depends on the DRM the walmart.com music store is using. It appears to me that as long as you can sync with windows 2000, which you can, you should be able to play the songs on your Treo.

You could also use a card reader and click and drag your songs to the music folder in you SD card. Next time you go to Ptunes, if that is what you use, it will search the card for all music files. If you have the free version of Ptunes I don't think it will play drm files. You will have to upgrade to the delux version of ptunes.

To me, this is the easiest way to download music onto my TREO. Hotsync will take to long.

We're talking WM here though comiken. pTunes is for Palm OS.

I believe you have to sync DRM'd files via ActiveSync, but you might be able to use a card reader to copy them over.
