People can't hear me - Treo Forum

For some reason, people can't hear me. I can hear them, but they can't hear me. My volumes are up.
The phone is over a year old and everything else works fine.

Sounds like a hardware problem. I know the headphone jack causes problems for some people, but it doesn't sound like what your issue is... Unless you've recently had some trauma to the headphone jack (like, you dropped the Treo with headphones plugged in) it's probably not that.

Try a soft reset, then a hard reset, and if your microphone still isn't picking anything, I'd say your phone needs to be replaced.

This is extremely frustrating... I just bought my 700w 8 months ago and I am having a reoccuring issue where people cannot hear me. I have not dropped the phone and even when I attempt using the bluetooth headset with it, I still can't be heard. What is going on? Also, sometimes my phone decides that it doesn't want to ring... the sound is on and all the other sounds work except for the ringer...

I'm mad to know that I paid all this money for this phone and the cheaper phones I've had before never gave me these issues.

I bet you its the headset jack. Can they hear you if you use a headset? You tried a hard reset? Same problem on my phone. People can't hear me unless I use a headset. The headset jack seems to be damaged so that when no headset is present it still tries to pickup the audio input from the headset jack - hence people can't hear me. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT anyone? It seems a lot of people have this problem.

I have never used a wired headset for this phone... It happens when I have the phone on my ear OR with my bluetooth (and the phone recognizes the bluetooth)... I'll try this method, but I PAID TOO MUCH to have to do this.

There have been plenty of reports that the culprit may be your TTY?TTD may be enabled when it should be set to off. Also I occasionally have a volume problem because the side volume control buttons are easy to push while using the phone and that may be causing hearing issues on your end of the conversation.

You're right... my phone was set to Full TTY. I have turn it off and hopefully that will fix the issue. I'll let y'all know.
