contacts names problem

on outlook on my computer i have my contacts listed Firstname Lastname
but on my 700w it shows up as Lastname, Firstname... i have done some digging around in the options and i cant seem to find a solution to my problem... how do i turn the contacts in the 700w to Firstname Lastname

I have the same problem with my Treo680.

I can change to 'Firstname Lastname' in the Palm Desktop, but the Treo does not offer this option. Synchronising after changing the Desktop settings does not change this.

I find it easier to select my Contacts by Firstname. How can I change this setting please, preferably without renaming the fields?

I'm sorry I don't have a fix for either of you, but I was curious if anyone knew why some of my contacts have parentheses () around them on the 700wx.

I have the same problem...If I add a contact directly to the phone I have to change it to First Name/Last Name in Outlook and then sync again to fix it in the phone. How annoying is that?

I have the 750 and when I enter contacts I type first name last name etc and they show in the treo as last name first when I look them up just like they are found in outlook 2003 contacts lists. I loked in my tero to see if there was something readily apparent in settings for the way contacts are stored have not found anything yet will let you guys know if and when I find something.

If you are using Outlook, you may want to look under contacts and the "File As" feild. It seams for me at least that my 700W sorts contacts this way.

Hello,

I have gotten used to entering my contacts by first name. Most times I don't even enter the last name since most of my contacts are friends. Thus what I do is enter the first name, followed by a comma, and then the last name if I want one. The contact will show i.e. James, Smith on the Treo as well as Outlook when synced.
