Question Battery question

Kinda new to this with a dumb question. Just had to get a replacement 700w.
Instructions say to fully charge the battery for 12hrs. My damaged Treo(which got run over by a car) no flattened out pancake or anything like that,
just the screen got damaged and is illegible. My old phone still charges the battery. Any problem with using my old battery to start up my phone and put the new battery in the old phone to do the 12 hr charging. Or is a fully charged new battery needed for something I dont understand. ta

Using the old battery would be fine, provided it's not physically damaged. Open up the old Treo and inspect it. If it looks ok, I'd say it's fine to use, and you now have a spare battery.

You can use The Palm Treo Battery Charger to charge the battery.

I would be careful though, and watch it pretty closely. Even though you may not see any physical damage, there could be other damage. If it starts heating up or acting weird, pull it.

I am like forgot. You just never know or see any internal damage. LotusLord's recommendation is a good, cheap and safe alternative. I use it to keep batteries charged and fresh.
