Treo 700wx heating up and battery life

Hi

I just got the Treo 700wx and absolutely love it except for these 2 issues

1. It feels like it is heating up, I can feel it warm in my pocket. Is it common or did I get a lemon?

2. I charged completely at 8am and battery is almost dead by 4pm. I did not use it for too much though I have push email enabled. Could the push email be causing my battery to die so fast?

Thanks for any insight.

If your TREO is heating up in your pocket, then somthing is running. If you do have push mail, then your Radio could constantly be running to retrieve that mail. That will reduce your battery life as well.

Check your phone and make sure you don't to many programs trying to connect to the internet, i.e. weather update etc.

Bingo on both issues! Once I reduced the push email frequency, the heating has reduced and the battery life seems to be better (need to confirm this though this evening).

Thanks for the help.

Hi there, I just got my 700wx June 1st. I also love it. I always check to cancell any running programs (because it seems they keep running unless you shut them down manually) It is easy to do and fast...
Go to the "ok" button push it down for a few seconds.
You will see a "Running Programs List" appear.
You then can select to Stop all, or just the ones you want to stop.
That should help a lot.
It's fast
It's easy.
Try it.

Yep, Windows Mobile doesn't close applications but hides them unless you use the method you've described or a third party program like Magic Button

One other suggestion - get the Seidio 2400mah battery they sell here for the 700wx. I listen to music, read my books, play games and watch movies on my WX during slow days at work and it last all day long.
