TREO 700 wx problems

Since I bought my first 700wx in October of 2006, I've had constant problems with loosing calls I am on when another call comes through. Also, programs start opening up on their own. We've been through the hard and soft resets, etc. Treo replaced this phone with a new one and the same problems continue.

Can anyone relate . . . any advice on how to remedy this problem?

I'm a Realtor and it's very frustrating for me and my clients when I lose touch with them during a phone call.

Frankly, I'm ready to pitch this phone.

I love the MP3, contact, calendar applications but the most important aspect of the phone for me is a major disappointment.

HELP!

It's very likely that 3rd party applications are causing some of these problems. After you do the hard reset, does it seem to be any better?

If you can I recommend doing a hard reset and not loading any of the software particular to your job, just for a day or so, and see if it works any better. Then if there are multiple apps that you use in your realty business load them in one at a time and see if it gets worse.

Sorry your first post was because you're frustrated, but I think and hope we can help you get this sorted out. Welcome to Treonauts!

Have performed several hard resets to no avail.

Part of the problem is when I'm on a call and have another one coming in, my screen goes black and that when I can no longer hear or speak to the current caller. If I'm quick enough, sometimes I can hit the speaker tab and recover the current call . . . this works about 5% of the time.

I have programs that open up automatically and not just my activesync. Games, Calendar, Contacts, Calculator, etc. Very random.

My local realtor association told me the 700wx has software issues due to the Windows OS. Apparently the Treos with Palm OS work much better.

There has to be something that can fix these problems. I've been reading threads throughout this forum and it would appear the wx has far too many problems.

HELP . . . AGAIN.

If your re-syncing your Treo and sticking your apps back on straight afterwards then it will be of little help. What you need to do is do a hard reset and then test it without anything else. If it works then gradually put things back on it that way when it fails you should be able to identify what caused it

Have not added any apps after hard reset. In fact, I haven't added any new apps since I bought the phone.

frustrated,

Yes, the 750v is a windows based phone. BTW, who is your carrier? Since you haven't added any third party apps, then they should be able to help you solve this issue. Seems to me to be a faulty phone. Also, remember that carriers also add their own "add-ons" to the phone before releasing it. So that could also be an issue in your case.

Call your carrier and see what they tell you. They may even let you change to a palm based TREO, or give you another replacement phone.

Are you using a screen protector? A case? If so, which one?

Both of these have long and sordid histories as the cause of strange problems of the type you describe.
