One question...what screen/meathos do you use to turn your phone on/off? I noticed that when I had magic button on mine, that when I tried to turn the phone radio on or off with the screen showing the phone and BT status, that when I clicked on the 'X' on top, it would reverse what I just did. I had to get in the habit of clicking 'done' on the bottom. Short of that, if you can list 3rd party apps you have installed?

Maybe a trip to a VZW store with a tec station may be in order before a hard reset (just a thought).

Good luck, I know how frustrating it can get.

hey syrguy how's it going...

I only have google maps and Treo alerts 4.9 installed ...no other 3rd party software...i use the same method to turn the phone on and off as always just hold down the red off/on button...this time i actually went into the Wireless Manager under settings and tapped the screen where it says Phone to turn it off and when i tryied to turn on it wouldnt...but ive done it this way befor many times...i dont understand

this is really bothering me cause if i had an emergency i would be up a creek here

i tried soft reboot a bunch of times again....what would maker the phone not turn on?? this is crazy... Windows...I should have known better than to rely on anything Windows

Does it stall at the welcome screen, or does it do its full thing then never turn on?

it was doing the full thing then never turned on...but now i got it to turn on...but I had to hard boot and lost my stuff ...so now i have it turned on and tested phone...its ok but i have to reenter my contact and programs and redo my customized stuff....

Is there a way (software) to make an image of my Treo that i can save to my PC ...this way i can just seemlessly load that image back on to the Treo when this happens? ...cause i have a feeling im gonna be hard booting a lot with this damn phone lol

thanks

I would install a good backup program if I were you. Sprite is free from Treo, just install it from your CD, or go to the Palm site. You will need the Serial Number from the Treo, but this will allow you to back up all your info onto an SD card, plus (I use SPB backup, but I think Sprite does this as well), you can download an 'image' onto your PC to backup as well.

Help to turn on your phone

Not sure if you got your phone working yet, but for my 700W with Verizion wireless I hold the red power button down for 1 sec it will turn the phone off. I do the same to turn it back on. Good luck hope this helps.
