Missing Calls

I just got my treo 2 days ago, and notice that my phone is not ringing some of the time, and is going straight to voicemail. i found a setting box that said something along the lines of "don't allow a phone call to interrupt a data connection" so I unchecked that, and it still happened. This has occured while someone has tried to call me as I have been playing with me phone, but I figured that if I was using the internet and someone called, it would interrupt the internet usage. please let me know if you can help, thanks!

Try a hard reset. I've found with my Treo and my old 6700 that neither worked perfectly out of the box. Once I realized something was awry, I did a hard reset and in both cases they worked perfectly thereafter. Try that first and then we can break it down to pieces if it still happens.

Make sure you have done your Activesync first so you can restore all of your info later on...

You can try a soft reset before a hard reset. Same thing happens on my phone once in a while. I won't receive phone calls or text, then my phone just happens to soft reset on its own for some reason and I get 2-3 voicemails and texts.

now i have been noticing that my phone is automatically connecting to the internet, and i think this may be part of the reason i am missing calls. i cannot figure out how to stop it from automatically connecting for no reason.

Ya, it sounds like you've got demons. You can try the soft reset first, but I'm pretty sure you have a full Hard Reset in your near future. Let us know if you need help in doing such...

I did a hard reset, we'll see if this solves the problem...

Is the treo supposed to connect to the data network while you are on the today screen if you are not even doing anything? I had my e-mail set up to check every 15 minutes for a new one, and then I changed that to not even check at all when I started having problems with the EVDO network connecting automatically.

Also, are you supposed to be able to receive calls while you are on the data network? because I had my friend (who was sitting next to me) try to call me while I was on the web, and it went straight to v-mail... I had the box which says ''do not allows phone calls to interrupt data sessions' un-checked, so I thought the phone call should have come through....

UPDATE:
I did the hard reset, and no longer have problems with the data network automatically connecting. woohoo! however, people still get sent straight to voicemail when trying to call me while i am using the data network.. is there anyway around that?

UPDATE 2:
I did some research, and it seems that calls will be sent straight to voicemail if you are connected to 1x data, however if you are using EV-DO you can set it up to allow calls to come through. can anyone confirm if my info is correct?
