Google Maps... It works great, but...

Is it possible to pass command-line arguments with address information to GMM, like you do in a full-sized windows app..??? Like "c:\foo.bar /myinfo"...?

I am using the ListPro database program, which has a "Link" field. I would like to be able to put an address link in an item so I can click on it to pass that data to GMM, and have it pop up to that point on the map.

I know it might be too for a WM5 app to handle, but I figured it can't hurt to ask...

Uh... Sure... If I knew, a) the function is actually supported, b) the command syntax, and c) the argument syntax... Which is all why I asked...

Ah!

Ah! It sounded like you knew the syntax already, by the post, and also it didn't make sense to me, since you said you had the program already. Now I think I understand your question but I can't help you with it, 'cause I don't even know how the "big one" works.

And was this line of your's supposed to read:
"I know it might be too MUCH for a WM5 app to handle..."?

OMG A TYPO! I almost NEVER do those!

Anyways... My thinking was that the Google Toolbar for IE is able to parse out address info from web pages, and then flip that info over to Google Earth. I wasn't sure if it used DDE or COM or what. And I don't even know if WM5 supports those systems, much less GMM.

I *am* able to put web links in my ListPro database records that point to adresses on Maps.google.com, but the images are resized badly, and the street names become illegible. And if I use the Mobile version of Maps.google.com, those dumb little postage-stamp-sized map graphics are just so stupidly small as to be useless.

So... Thus my wish to link to GMM. I *have* Googled for things like "google maps mobile dde" and "command line" and so forth but it came up with absolutely zip. GMM is so new I don't think anyone has hacked around with it yet. If I knew if/how GMM could have an address passed to it, I might even tinker around in Visual Basic 6, and try to make my own "connector" DLL or EXE... Which I would of course share with everyone, since Listpro & GMM rock...!

According to gmm, "We do listen to the 'Google Maps for mobile' group on Google Groups."

Maybe you can find more info there or they may upgrade from a suggestion of yours?

Good luck!
