700wx + Outlook Express - Treo Forum

I have the Treo 700P which can't sync with outlook express. I know it can with Outlook, but wanted to know if the 700wx can sync with express. Someone had told me the "P" wouldn't and the "wx" would. HELP. Thanks in advance.

Yes,

The WX can sync with Express but only the contacts and email. Because Express doesn't do Tasks, Notes, and Calendar, the WX has nothing to sync with. It's best to use a full version of Outlook if you're going to use your phone effectively.

I thought the only way to sync with Outlook Express was to use a third party program such as SyncExpress

I will try it tonight when I get home. So far I like the 700WX, but am I able to download Opera Mini and also Verichat for it? If I am able to, are there any special programs I need to get Opera Mini working like IBM WebSphere? For Verichat, would someone happen to have the file I can download as the site's links are down. I have an IM+ account that I had on my 700P, can I transfer it to the 700WX?

If Verichat is not being supported anymore, how are we able to still use it?

You were very correct sir. It worked like a charm after 20 minutes of wondering how to disable contacts from ms outlook from trying to sync.

That's what I was thinking, or at least some version of Outlook. The Cingular 750 includes Outlook 2002.

Well I needed it to sync w/ Outlook Express which is not supported w/ Outlook 2003 that comes with the Treo. I also just wanted it for one time use as I had my contacts on there after syncing it w/ my nokia 6682 from Cingular.

Jayden,

I might be wrong, but when you upgrade to Outlook from Outlook Express, I think your contacts and info are automatically transferred over (or it asks you at one point in installation if you want to import them). You might not need to sync it up with Express at all. But I do know that you can save your contacts in a separate file first (to make sure they are later available; maybe even print them first) and then you can upgrade to Outlook 2003 afterwards. Then you can dance and sing as you sync your phone to it.

The export functions of Outlook Express are pretty disappointing in my experience. I'm pretty sure that you can import the contacts when installing Outlook though...
