Treo 700w and 700wx, what's the difference - Treo Forum

Hi all,

Looking at getting my first PDA. I want to be able to keep track of work e-mail while traveling for business. I'd also like to be watch a movies and play a few games while in the airport and on the plane. There fore a phone with "airplane mode" is important. Verizon is my carrier with no intention of switching. I am debating the 700w, 700wx, 700p, and a 650. I am leaning toward the 700p because it runs PalmOS and I've never been a fan of having the latest software for anything until the bugs are worked out. One draw back to the 700p is that it is significantly more expensive.

Two questions: other than memory being greater in the 700wx vs. the 700w what is the difference between the 700w and 700wx? Second question, since this is my first PDA should I consider the 650 for a starting point and build up from there. I have one year left on my service contract and could get the newest phone at that time.

i believe the processor in the wx is much faster too

the 700wx and 700w are both pretty sound devices. i'd start with the 700wx and just go from there..

Nope, same Intel 312Mhz processor as the 700w

The WX is so much "cooler" than the palm version. At first I thought it would be harder to navigate with wm5 and it turned out to be something you have to get the hang of. I love the "OK" button so I can go back to previous screens or cancel out actions. The only thing I like about the 700p is the amount of programs/apps you can d/l.
