Multiple results from one event during search

Hello everyone. When I do a search in my 700wx for a client's upcoming appointments it gives me, usually, three responses per event. eg. if Bob has two appointments the result will be to show both appointments, two or three times. Any ideas why or how to get it to just show the result once?

I am using the start/search feature.

Thanks for any input.

It sounds like it's doing a feedback loop. Mine is currently ringing it's alarm clock with three simultaneous alarms when I just want it once (I have to dismiss it three times). Anyway, the way to fix it is to do a hard reset and rebuild your phone again (making sure that you've previously sync'd your stuff on your computer to get it back later). It's a bitch and so far I haven't bothered, but if it really bugs you, you might as well get started rebuilding. I think I'm just going to wait until it gets a little more buggy before I start. BTW, this generally happens from installing other software, deleting, and adding new software again. It bugs up the registry and causes the feedback.

Good luck...

Thanks shogunmaster. I don't think I'll attempt a rebuild. Took me too long to learn to do that with my PC to start trying with Windows Mobile :-)

Luckily, the rebuild on your phone isn't nearly as labour intensive as one for you computer, but depending on your third party software integration, I find it takes about a day to recustomize all of my settings the way I like them. I've only done 2 hard resets on this phone (lots of times with my old Treo 600) but I'm in no rush to get to #3.

Don't worry, necessity will one day dictate that your hard reset is due...

After watching the video that Kimmie posted I see that a hard reset only erases all data, not OS and programs (with the possible exception of third party)?

Heck, if that's the case, the only problem I have in considering it is that my ActiveSync doesn't give me the option of "device overwriting PC" or "PC overwriting device" until it is already in the process of syncing so I just have to remember to set all that before I do the hard reset.

A hard reset just brings your phone back to factory settings so what you had out of the box is what you have again. And you don't need to worry about changing ActivSync. When you are sync'ing for the 'frist time again', no matter what settings you had previous, it won't overwrite your computers info to nothing. It will automatically assume that the computer needs to overwrite the phone. ActiveSync itself will go back to original settings, so you need to customize that again too.

I couldn't imagine the heart attacks that would occur if your newly reset phone overwrote all of your info with nothing...
