| A Few Questions.... ![]() | What are the feature differences, advantages and disadvantages between a 700w and a 700wx? Which Treo model is best overall. Is there a website or posting on the web that does a good job of actully comparing the models feature by feature? Lastly, I've had the 650p, 700p and 700w. On each one, the phone jack stopped workign after about a couple of months so that if I plugged a corded head set into the Treo, then I could hear someone talk, but they could not hear me. Has any one else experienced this? In this age of Bluetooth, I realize there is another option, but I would like to have a fall-back plan. Any ideas how to fix the jack problem? Thank you. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hello Thomist, First your headphone jack. Yes TREOS have been known for a weld coming loose near the phone jack. However, I have had many corded headsets in the past that just stopped working. Really, I think I talked them to death! So, I would try another head set. As a matter of fact, I went through 2 headsets on a LG I owned a few years back. I could hear them, but they couldn't hear me. As far as what TREO is the best, I guess that is up to the user. My first, and only TREO, has been the 700p. I tell you what, I have not had any problems with my phone what so ever. I am pretty techy, so I guess I really don't mess it up. The only issues I have with my 700p are my own. I mess with it so much, adding software deleting, altering, etc. just for my own knowledge, that sometime I need a hard reset to start over. I have, about 8 copies of my backup folder. So to sum up my rant. The best phone is the one the user likes, I guess. Lou |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You can group the different models by OS and/or network type, the 700P and 700w/wx are all CDMA phones, the 680 and 750 are GSM, the 700w/wx and 750 run Windows Mobile whereas the 700P and 680 use PalmOS. Which Treo is right for you depends on which carrier you're with and whether you prefer WM or PalmOS. Once you've answered both those questions you should be left with one Treo to choose from ![]()

![]() ![]() | Today's blog from Andrew regarding the Bluetooth headset could be you headset alternative. I prefer the PalmOS Treo's, still waiting for 750p GSM.
