| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Does anyone know if it is possible to synchronize contacts between a Treo 700w and a Motorola MotoRazr? They both have Bluetooth, so I guess that means one could do that - right? I thought that was one of the selling features of Bluetooth. If this si possible can someone whow me how to do that? Many thanks. |

![]() | I'm pretty sure that the only way to transfer Contacts en masse (not just one at a time) you need to syc up the phone to your Activesync. If your RAZR syncs with your Outlook for instance; no problem. However, if you going the direct route, I can't see the formats being similar or compatible. Same with the 700w and 700wx. Just sync through Activesync.

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Hello Shogunmaster! Thank you for the input. I would be happy if I could just do at least one at a time. The problem is that I can't even transfer one contact at a time with Bluetooth. When I select a contact and then press the right soft key, the only option on the menu is to "Beam Contact." But when I select that, then all it tries to do is an infrared beam (transfer). It is like my Treo 700w is stuck on infared and it won't even allow me to do a Bluetooth transfer. Any tips would be a great help!! |

![]() | Well, ur 700w also has a IR port, so I guess you could try aiming them at each other and see if the beaming works (make sure you turn the Treos IR on). But again, I think the formats are different and you are going to have compatibility issues. If Activesync from your computer isn't possible, I think you are down to having a long sit down with both of your phones and entering the contacts in manually. Hopefully you have significantly less contacts than the 1000+ I have in my phone. Good luck..

![]() | Sorry I just reread your post and as I just finished a 13 hour shift and I'm running on zero sleep, I didn't notice that you were already referrencing the IR on your Treo; I assume the RAZR doesn't have it. I've never tried to connect my Treo's Bluetooth to another phone before, but I have connected it to computers. If you can't get them to connect together, I'm wondering if you can connect the RAZR to your computer, transfer your contacts there, and then in turn connect your Treo to the computer for the upload (or just use the Activesync cable). Not sure if the above is possible as I don't know if the RAZR's contacts can be processed into Outlook directly or not. But I would give it a try. Again, your final option is to just punch them all in manually. Hopefully you don't have to resort to that (been there, it sucks...)

![]() | using the IR beam does infact work and the formats are the same, there's just no way to send all of my contacts over in 1 send. Even with Active Sync I'm having trouble transferring my contacts. BUT - it's soooo worth being out of my Verizon Contract with NO ETF and the ability to port! |
