short battery life - Treo Forum

i am having problems w the battery life of my 700w. it used to last for several days, now will only last thru the day. the battery lasts several days w the phone off. i have tried a new battery and have tried the battery from a friends treo, all with the same results. the battery life was fine for several weeks after i purchased the treo and suddenly begin its short life. any ideas?

Do you have any third party programs that update automatically or sync using Exchange Active Sync? Also check to see if you have made your device discoverable under your Bluetooth settings.

Welcome Hogboy, as TazUK says, it sounds like you got a new app or setting that making the Treo burn through juice. Check your beam receive, net connection, BT and email download times.

Next check your net capable apps and make sure, if they have the option, they disconnect when done.

One of the biggest battery hogs I had was GoodLink, and it never even occurred to me that it was a problem. My previous company used this to push email to us, and I had to charge every night and sometimes in the car on the way home. Once I left the co (and GoodLink), I started getting 2-3 days off a single charge.
