![]() | Hello! Seems I am faced with a perplexing issue - in the past, when I wanted to end a data connection, I would simply just tap on the icon on the top of the today screen... I am unable to do that now. The only way I can end a data connection is to power the phone down, then back up. As I am a fiddler by heart I am wondering if I have changed a setting somewhere that would disallow this... any ideas? I have checked the settings on the 700wx that could possibly cause this but everything looks right but I am probably missing something. I have recently installed the BlueFire mobile VPN client but wouldn't think that it would cause the problems... there aren't any settings in it that I am aware of that would cause this. I thought I would ask here just in case anyone out there in Treo-land had experienced this. Thanks so much in advance for the help! |

![]() | So do you even get data connections in SD? I spent a month in Rapid City last summer, and I had little or no data, and roaming on Sprint. You have Sprint I assume (by wx). How's the phone quality up there? As to your data connection, if you take the stylus, tap on the "1X" icon up top, it should pop up with a dialog box labeled "Connectivity". From there, you should see a "Disconnect" button. If you don't get that, I bet your VPN client or some other software took over control of it.

![]() | Thanks for the quick reply! As I live in a town in the north east part of SD on the interstate, coverage here is fine... seems as long as you stay by I-29, you are ok... no high speed network but that is to come in the nearby future. I did some travelling along the west coast last month and will have to say the EVDO network rocks! And to answer your other question, yes, I do have Sprint. As for the data connection icon, I know in the past if I did tap on it, it would pop up the connectivity dialog box allowing me to disconnect... not sure when this stopped as until recently I didn't do much browsing/email with it . We just got around to getting the PIX configured to allow connections with the 700wx w/Bluefire mobile VPN client. I just thought it rather strange that the VPN client would disallow you from disconnecting from the power vision network. I guess to rule that out, I could uninstall the client, try it out and make sure that the screen just isn't "dead" in that spot although tapping on the battery and time bring up the appropriate dialog boxes... |

![]() | Just to post a follow-up - The BlueFire Mobile VPN Client has placed an icon on the bottom of the Today screen that when tapped, brings the client back up. I tap disconnect on the client screen and this disconnects the data connection. The client was the culprit ![]() |
