700WX internet connection type control? - Treo Forum

Hello all!

I just ordered my 700WX and should have it tomorrow. I have a request, hopefully someone can help me.

I understand this phone uses the new, high speed EDO network for internet. However, I also understand we cannot use voice and data at the same time.

But the older standard 1R something, does.

This bothers me, as I was hoping to be able to talk to someone bluetooth, and browse the web while I talk.

From what I understand, the phone is downward compataible with the older network type.

Is there a way we can choose the internet connection on the fly?

What I am hoping for is a 'turbo button' application, where the phone is using the older net normally, so I can talk and browse at the same time, and if I need the speed boost, run a program to switch it to high speed mode.

Get my idea?

Any help would be appreciated!

I got my Treo 700wx yesterday and it does not allow phone and data at same time. that bites. Please let me know if you find a solution to this. I will look for reg edits etc and let you know if I find any.
