what are the files I can get rid of?

I only have 1.7MB storage free and 33.79MB program memory free.

How can I tell which files I can get rid of ?

??files no good??

I am with you there, I can't tell which files one can delete w/out messing up the device, which I have done before with my PC at home. That was a mess!! Hope someone can find this thread and shed some light on the situation.

That's difficult to answer without knowing what files you have There are utilities such as MemMaid that will get rid of temp files, browser cache, etc.

This is pretty difficult to determine short of hard resetting your device and writing down all the factory installed files. If you pay close attention to where you save and install files and programs it should help you know what you can and can't delete.

+1 I agree...I would do a hard reset, and in future, store new apps and data on a SD card.

You could try something like Pocket Mechanic Professional

I always find it an advantage for my Treo to save memory by putting as many applications as possible onto my SD Card, that's a good way to free up space.

Another thought about the possibility of why you haven't got much free space could be the amount of photo's and video's that you have taken with your Treo, those little video's take up alot of valuable memeory, they too can be transfered to an SD Card.

I generally put the "fun" and "extra" apps I don't use that often on the SD card, and the "core" apps that are either system critical or ones I use all the time on the device. Reason being, I don't want the card popping out when a program is running off the card. Don't want to lose data that way.
