![]() | My built in dictionary on my Treo 700w has quite a alarming number of misspelled words and I don't believe I am responsible for all of them. I would like to know if there is a way to 1) purge the dictionary, 2) get a new clean dictionary or 3) add correct spellings that are not in the dictionary. |

![]() | My Treo 700w has a dictionary that is full of misspelled words. Most of them I did not put in there. How can I get a fresh, clean dictionary download or refresh? I do not seem to be able to access the dictionary to clean it up myself. Please give me any suggestions you may have. Thanks! |

![]() | Are you sure it's wrong and you just don't know how to spell? Sorry, couldn't resist.. ![]()

| I made my first post! ![]() | I would also like to know how to edit the built in dictionary. I know it's there because it changes "im" to "i'm" and makes other changes too. The blackberry makes it quite easy to add words to the dictionary...can't imagine the treo 680 is more difficult in that respect. |

![]() ![]() | @Probst54: You've raised an intresting point there. I don't even know where the dictionary is stored. I assume it's inbuilt much like the T9 of the SMS world but even my Nokia from 5 years ago would add words that I'd spelt for it (though you couldn't remove them). I don't have a WX (anymore, *sniff*) but I don't recall being able to add a word to the spell check, have you looked for that? If you really can't find anything in the OS try this freeware - DictMgr which is basically the authors four previous utils in one and include a dictionary editor, spell checker, word corrector and acronym reference: Let us know how you get along. @NewNowMAK: Welcome! I think what you're experiencing isn't the dictionary per se but the auto-correct feature and this will be governed (if at all) from the control panel. Failing that the above apps look like they'll do the trick. ~ Steph
